10 Minutes With SA

My meeting with Mr Olusola Amusan
 was in 2016.

As a student in Ondo, I use to listen to his program on radio then. The program's intro music was 'I love Naija, I love the green white green..'馃榿

I think it was for 15 minutes or so but for that 15 minutes, his choice of words, delivery and eloquence will keep you glued to your seat.

It's easy to spot why I was attracted to him as I desired to sharpen my gift of the gab.

I remember in June 2016, I saw a flier that a program with him as one of the speakers was scheduled to hold in FUTA organized by Pastor Ayo Daniels church.

I marked the date and planned to travel from my school down to FUTA to listen to the man whose eloquence I have always admired.

I left Ondo very early and got to the venue early too in Akure.

Immediately the program ended, I ran to him in front where he was seated and introduced myself and how I admire his eloquence.

I then asked him, what certificate I should get to be a public speaker and what I could do to improve my ability to speak.

See what he said:

'Does an artist need a certificate to prove his expertise to you once you can see how beautiful his drawing of you is?

When you get certified as a public speaker, that certificate is meant to give you leverage but the real proof of mastery is determined when you open your mouth to speak.'

To my second question, He said 'I will tell you just one thing - practice. Practice so hard that when you speak in a room, you won't need any introduction'.

These days when I speak at events and people come to me to ask the same questions I asked many years ago, I start by telling them the answers I was given.馃榿

With my products and work today, I have helped even more persons improve their public speaking ability and presentation.馃檶馃徑馃檹馃徏

I will never forget those words, Sir.
