It's Hard
How do you encourage a person who did everything right in 2023 but by December had little to show for his/her efforts that 2024 is a new year and that BIG things can happen?馃槥
I mean, this person read all the books recommended, attended events, networked with the professionals in the same industry, served a mentor wholeheartedly, took a bold step, started a business, sharpened needed skills but still results were not commensurate with efforts.
Times when she asked and didn't receive, she knocked and the doors didn't open, she sought and didn't find anything馃ゲ.
I admit it is hard to encourage this person to see that there's reward for effort as the immediate reality contradicts this fact.
If you are the one that I just described, I understand how it feels trust me but please keep reading.
I have two evergreen wise words of advice.
No 1.
Let me quote a part of the Bible that says that 'As earth remains, seed time and harvest time will never cease'.
It simply means that it doesn't matter how hard things look despite your effort, if you don't stop, you will soon hit gold.
For some this is hard to believe馃槀, shey?.
Life has not been fair to them starting from their place of birth, school attended, lost father or mother or even both at a tender age and even dropped out of school twice because of not being able pay fees.
You will assume that because of how hard it can be to peel potatoes, it will take 100hours before it can get soft, but it's a matter of heat moment and you will see how soft the potatoes can be.
If you stay in the game, you will get your rhythm back.
If you keep showing up, you will soon catch the eye of a scout or a sponsor.
A scout is someone who is tasked with sweeping through systems and cultures to select a good fit that meets a particular preferred specification.
The only way you can be seen is if you don't stop showing up.
If you keep improving and investing in yourself, soon you will be invited to serve kings.
If you keep applying for jobs, opportunities and scholarships, you will soon secure an opportunity that can rewrite your generation's history.
No 2.
People commit suicide simply because they have come to the end of hope. They got to a point where they couldn't find a reason to believe that anything good can ever happen.
For others, they are alive but have surrendered to life's pressure and settled for what is readily available although far below what destiny requires.
History is full of people who failed many times, lost relationships, lost businesses but stayed hopeful forging ahead with tears in their eyes.
For many of them, they are the inventors, global icons and veterans we celebrate today.
Find a reason to be hopeful and believe that good things will come your way soon.
Create an atmosphere that only inspires you often. Your choice of songs, movies, posts or chats all matter.
In all you do, trust that God will take care of you.
