From Uyo to Tokyo ✈️馃拑

If you are from an average background and against all odds you travel to Japan (to study and work) for the first time and you post a picture online of you at the airport, people will like the post and make comments to congratulate you. 馃榿馃憦馃憦

The people who have always known your story will share how your mother started selling firewood close to the park when your father died trying to climb the tree to tap palm-wine.

Your friends from primary school will hail you and your pictures posted on their status with the tag 'See my guy, I remember when we used our socks to make balls '.馃榿

When you take pictures at Mount Fuji and Ueno Park and post online, the likes increases and with more comments like 'Chai, Emeka my guy' by some university classmates.馃榿

After a while, people will get use to you been fine and on a higher level than you use to be.

They will react less to your progress for as long as it is on that same level.

The next time you might attract a higher level of engagement on your post again is if you launch something grand, graduate from the University, get employed to fill a high position, snap with an influential person, win an award, marry Amaka馃グ, buy the latest car and travel round the world.

A painful truth is that people move on quickly after applauding you.

They get use to you and your present level of progress that they don't see a reason to applaud you more than twice.

If all you seek is the applause of men, you will be in debt to buy and do things you shouldn't do at all or shouldn't & can't do now and at most, not live a fulfilling life.

I know you want the applause, more followers, likes and shares but seek it with wisdom.

Isn't it better when you get the applause doing what you are happy doing and at peace with?

I want you to win.馃榿
